Where is Casa Barrigones?
Casa Barrigones is in Cañaza on Costa Rica’s Osa Peninsula, about 15 minutes by car from Puerto Jiménez. The house is a base for exploring Golfo Dulce and planning Corcovado tours; park access and transfers depend on the chosen tour.
Is there Starlink internet?
Yes. The house has Starlink internet with speeds of around 200 Mbps. Actual speeds and availability can vary; a constant connection is not guaranteed.
How far is the beach, and do I need a 4×4?
The nearest beach is about 5 minutes by car or 20 minutes on foot. A 4×4 is not required to reach the house. Other outings on the Osa Peninsula may have different road conditions; ask us about your planned route.
How many guests can stay?
Casa Barrigones accommodates up to six guests, including six adults. There are two bedrooms: one with a spacious queen-size bed (180 × 200 cm), and one with a king-size bed (200 × 200 cm). Two additional guests can sleep on the 140 × 190 cm sofa bed in the open living area.
How are the bathrooms arranged?
One bedroom has a private en-suite bathroom. The second bathroom is available to the other bedroom and the living area. Both showers have hot water.
Is the property private?
The entire approximately 2,000 m² fenced property is for your exclusive use. There are no other buildings on the grounds.
What amenities are provided?
Air conditioning and fans in the bedrooms and living area, Starlink internet with speeds of around 200 Mbps, a smart TV, sound system, safe, beach towels and mosquito nets. Internet speeds may vary.
What is in the kitchen?
A hob, large fridge, microwave, coffee maker, cookware, crockery, glasses and a counter with four stools. There is no oven, dishwasher or water filter.
What is available outdoors?
A covered veranda with a table seating six, two rocking chairs, a coffee table and a hammock. A grill and fire pit are also available.
Are laundry facilities available?
There is no washing machine or tumble dryer at the house.
Are children welcome?
Yes. Please note that a cot and high chair are not provided. The house is surrounded by tropical nature, where potentially dangerous or venomous animals may occur. Children must be supervised by their parents or accompanying adults.
Are pets, smoking or events allowed?
Pets and smoking are not allowed. Parties and events require prior discussion and express permission.
What are the arrival and departure times?
Check-in is from 15:00 and check-out is at 11:00, in Costa Rica local time (America/Costa_Rica, UTC−6, no daylight saving time). Access is arranged by keybox or a personal handover, depending on the circumstances.
Is there a minimum stay?
The minimum stay is three nights.
What is included in the price?
The current rate is 200 USD per night, including cleaning and taxes. The minimum stay is three nights. No security deposit is required.
What are the cancellation terms?

Cancellation exactly 14 or exactly 7 days before arrival receives a 50% refund. No refund applies only when cancellation is less than 7 days before arrival.
Cancellation deadlines are measured as exact time intervals before 15:00 on the arrival date, in America/Costa_Rica (UTC−6, no daylight saving time).
Can you help with arrangements during our stay?
Tours, transfers and groceries before arrival may be organised on request. For stays of around a week or more, an additional clean may be possible by arrangement. Please ask about availability, details and any costs in advance.
